Surgically Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (SARPE)

Indications for a SARPE Include:

To correct unilateral or bilateral posterior crossbite
Increasing the maxillary transverse width
Alleviating dental crowding
Reducing excessively prominent visible buccal corridors when smiling
Overcoming resistance to expansion when orthopedic maxillary expansion has failed
